Features
Construction: A gimbal or hinged expansion joint has a pressure thrust restraint which allows angular movement in one or two planes and no axial movement. The joint can be fabricated from carbon, alloy or stainless steels.
Selection Criteria: A gimbal joint is used where movement needs to be restricted to angulation in one or two planes with full restraint of pressure thrust forces within the hardware
Main applications: Power plants, Refineries, more complex piping systems where control of piping movement is critical.
