- Inline versions will only absorb axial movements while retaining pressure force. Elbow versions can also absorb lateral movements. The purpose of this type of expansion joint is to eliminate pressure forces on the piping or delicate equipment connected to the expansion joint – such as a steam turbine – and allow axial movement. Spring forces still act.
- Typical bellows materials: 316SS, 321SS (H), 625 (LCF), 825, Titanium.
- Typical flange or pipe end materials: S275, 304SS, 316SS, CrMo, Titanium.
