At Safetech, we have always been firmly committed to sustainability and energy efficiency. That’s why we have decided to take an important step towards a greener future with the recent installation of 160 monocrystalline modules of 450 Wp at our facilities, which will provide a total peak power of 72 KWp.
Committed to efficiency and reducing our carbon footprint
The company Ekisolar, experts in industrial installations since 2006, took the lead on this project. To do so, they conducted a study that supports the reliability and durability of the system in the weather conditions in our area: with a guaranteed productivity of over 85% for at least 25 years. The excellent conditions on our roofs have facilitated the module installation process, which will result in minimal costs to maintain the installation.
Thanks to the energy produced by these solar panels, we are avoiding the emission of approximately 31,320 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere and, in addition, we estimate that we can cover at least 50% of our energy requirements, reaffirming our commitment to a more sustainable future and reducing our carbon footprint.
Why we chose solar power
Our decision to invest in solar power is based on three key factors:
- Being a company that is increasingly sustainable;
- Being self-sufficient and generating the energy we consume;
- And minimising the impact of fluctuations in energy prices on our competitiveness.
In addition, to make this project possible, we had support from the linked to the renewable energy self-supply and storage incentive programme of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
A sustainable investment for the future
Being committed to the environment and increasingly competitive every day are key goals in this project, which we estimate will have a return on investment of less than 3 years.
We are profoundly grateful to IXOTU Gestión y Eficiencia Energética for their consultancy on energy matters over the last 6 years and for having introduced us to Ekisolar, who did an extraordinary job in the execution and follow-up of all administrative, legal and technical aspects of the project.
