Customised expansion joints: Bringing you closer to your goals
With more than 60 years of experience, a great team of professionals and two production plants (in Spain and the United Arab Emirates) we cover the needs of many industries: Desalination plants, thermal power stations, petrochemical plants, etc.
At SAFETECH, we have designed and manufactured customised expansion joints since 1957 for a variety of applications: desalination plants, seawater intake plants, thermal power stations, pumping stations, petrochemical plants… Rubber, metallic, and textile joints.
Rubber bellows, can be designed with one or more arches and sizes ranging from DN50 to DN3600. The largest rubber joint we can manufacture is DN4000, although there have been no requests for this type of joint yet. Currently the largest bellow dispatched from our facilities is DN3600x350..
SAFETECH has gained experience over the last 63 years, but above all, we have defined and optimised a solid and reliable methodology -seeking continuous improvement at every stage of the manufacturing process for our expansion joints, even in the smallest details- as well as continuous improvements that today differentiate us from our competitors and largely explain our success: clients in more than 50 countries and the recent opening of a second production plant in the United Arab Emirates. Some of these strengths are:
1. TIGHT DELIVERY TIMES
We always work on demand. The delivery times depends on different aspects but, on average, the time spent in manufacturing a special expansion joint-requiring the procurement and subcontracting of components- is about 4 weeks. However, we have both material and human resources to be able to meet tight deadlines if necessary.
2. SOLID WORK METHODOLOGY
SAFETECH’s customised development and production of joints goes through several stages. The work in each one of them is clearly defined, so that the least possible time is lost and deliveries are made as quickly as possible:
- Client’s specifications analysis.
- Joint design and quotation.
- Materials procurement.
- Manufacture and assembly.
- Design’s acceptance and verification testing.
- Packaging and shipping.
3. OUR EXPANSION JOINTS’ QUALITY
In addition to all of the above, the quality of our expansion joints are characterised by stringent monitoring throughout the entire manufacturing process, from the design table itself to final dispatch. We also carry out 100% dimensional reporting of the joints, and pressure and vacuum testing on demand. This ensures an optimal end result.
We only receive complaints for less than 0.1% of the thousands of expansion joints we sell each year, and they are usually related to miss-applocation of the product. The most frequently reported issues are:
- Pipping bolts coming into contact and damaging the joint’s arch. Most often due to a pipe design error.
- Compensator cracked due to an overstretch.
- Rubber incompatibility with the fluid. Rubber surface is damaged.
A rubber expansion joint manufactured by SAFETECH, and used under conditions for which it was created, can last up to 25 years in less aggressive environments.
4. TWO FACTORIES: SPAIN AND THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES
We have factories in Idiazabal (Guipúzcoa, Spain) and in Rakez FZ (Ras Al Khaimah, UAE), with technical assistance services within 24 hours if necessary.
